Slade is the library's Administrative Specialist since 2012. His employment with the library began in 2008 when he started working for the Music Lab while earning his degree. He holds a B.A. in International Studies with a concentration in history from Arkansas Tech University.

Outside of his work, Slade enjoys many extracurricular activities. He plays the trumpet and enjoys making music with other musicians. He has traveled to many countries and studied many cultures, and one day he hopes to see all the world has to offer. During college, Slade began writing works of fiction outside his studies, and his debut novel Colorblind was published in 2012. Slade appreciates storytelling of all types, including movies, books, and music. Slade is also a fan of the Boston Celtics.
