Frances Hager
Acquisition Librarian
Frances Hager is the Acquisitions Librarian at Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center at Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, AR, where she supervises the acquisitions of books, serials, and government documents. She assists part-time at the library's Reference Desk. She is a member of the Arkansas Library Association and the Government Documents Roundtable. She participates in the Arkansas Government Documents Consortium and has chaired this group several times. In 2013 she was awarded the Distinguished Service Award by the Arkansas Library Association.
She earned a B.S.E in Secondary Education, with a major in English and a minor in Social Studies at John Brown University in Siloam Springs, AR. Her Masters in Library science was earned at the University of North Texas in Denton. She has completed master's level library courses at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Frances has worked on a non-professional level in many types of libraries, including the Archives and Special Collections at the University of Central Arkansas; the public library in Rogers, AR; the Science Library at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA; and as a public school librarian in Donna, TX.
In 1988 she was the recipient of the Arkansas Library Association scholarship.
She has a son, Justin, who is a graduate of Arkansas Tech University.
When she is not at work, she enjoys reading, needlework, gardening, fishing and camping.
