Tinerella, Vince
Public Services Librarian
![]() Vince is the Public Services Librarian, managing reference, user instruction, interlibrary loans, and special collections, and he serves as the bibliographer and liaison for marketing and management, accounting and economics, and social sciences and philosophy. He earned an M.L.I.S from Dominican University and an M.A. in American history from DePaul University in Chicago. He teaches bibliographic instruction and LBMD 2001 at ATU, and is an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Maryland University College, teaching information literacy and graduate research methods courses. Prior to coming to Tech, Vince was the coordinator of electronic reference services and an assistant professor at Northern Illinois University, a reference and instruction librarian at DePaul University, and a Chicago police officer for twenty-one years.
Vince is a regular contributor to academic journals, and a long-time reviewer for ARBA, RUSA Quarterly, and the Catholic Library World. His primary research interests include the preservation of the Catholic intellectual tradition and the history of Catholic libraries and collections in the United States. Vince was recently honored with the John Brubaker Memorial Award from the Catholic Library Association, the Recognition of Reviewers Award from the ALA's Reference and User Services Association and nominated for the 2009 UMUC Stanley J. Drazek Teaching Excellence Award (Drazek Award) and the 2009 UMUC Teaching Recognition Award (TRA) from the University of Maryland University College. In his spare time, Vince likes watching and playing sports, and spending time in the outdoors fishing and boating, canoeing, camping, and hiking. Contact
