Bill has been the Director of Pendergraft Library since 1990. Before coming to ATU, Bill was the University Librarian at Howard Payne University in Brownwood Texas and the Associate Director of the Waco-McLennan County Library in Waco, Texas. He holds a B.M. in Music Theory from the University of Houston and a Master of Librarianship from the University of Washington. Bill's professional and research interests include library management and administration, assessment, information technology, library 2.0, and reference and user services. Bill chairs and serves as a member a number of committees, and he is the advisor for the Phi Theta Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega.
Bill pursues a number of interests in his spare time. He is a writer and an accomplished musician. He has written four humorous one-act plays based on Old Testament stories, "Angels, Arks, and Patriarchs," which has been produced several times for the Russellville and other communities. He plays trumpet in and around Russellville in his jazz bands, The John Cotton Quartet, Jazz Reunion, and for the pit orchestra for the summer community theater musical. He is an avid movie buff (especially devoted to film classics), enjoys Sudoku and puzzles, is an avid fan of college football and basketball, and active in his church, All Saints Episcopal in Russellville.
