Periodicals
This collection contains general interest magazines, newspapers and scholarly journals. They are arranged in alphabetical order by title. Periodicals in this area are the most recent issues the library has received.

Fiction
A private fiction collection, arranged in alphabetical order by author, is located on the shelf against the wall.

Newspapers
The newspapers, in alphabetical order by title, are located on the same shelf.
Indexes and Abstracts
Print indexes and abstracts in the library collection are gateways to periodical literature published before the advent of computerization. Indexes provide coverage of articles in subject specific disciplines as well as general subject areas, and some newspapers. Please ask a staff member at the Reference Desk if you need assistance.
Here you will find reference volumes, encyclopedias, dictionaries, bibliographies, indexes, statistics and other materials. The main part of the reference collection covers all disciplines, including humanities, social sciences, and pure sciences. The Library uses the Dewey Decimal System in the reference area also.
Map Cabinet
This section contains topographical and flood plain maps of Arkansas. The US Government supplies most of this material.
Atlases
This section contains international and national geographic atlases. There are also economic, agricultural, historical, geologic, oceanographic, and ethnic atlases.
Vertical Files
The left cabinet contains local and national companies' corporate annual reports. These files are organizeded alphabetically by company name.
The middle cabinet contains documents and tourism information for cities and other areas throughout the state of Arkansas. These files are organized alphabetically by county.
The right cabinet contains tourist and general information for all other states. These files are organized by alphabetical order.
Oversize Books

In the vertical stacks, next to the reference books is the "oversize" book collection.
Pope County Law Library

The northeast corner of the Library houses the Pope County Law Library.
Media Station
Use this computer to access CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, and other media titles that are limited to one computer (one location) installation as specified by their licensing agreements. Specific disk titles can be located through the Library Online Catalog. They are stored by call number at the Circulation Desk.
Copiers, Microcard, Microfiche, and Microfilm Readers
Self-service machines for reading microcards, microfiche, and microfilms are available. The microfiche and microfilms readers are aslo connected to printers. In addition, there are 3 copy machines in the room.
Reference Desk
Librarians and staff are available at the Reference Desk most of the hours the library is open. At the Reference Desk you may ask for assistance in utilizing electronic and print resources, including the library's online catalog, electronic databases, electronic indexes and online journals. At this desk are shelved the most current reference volumes referred to as "Ready Reference." In-depth, one-on-one, reference assistance is available. Circulation Desk
At the Circulation Desk you may check out, return and renew library materials. Once you have completed a library application, your ATU ID card will serve as your library card. University faculty may place books, chapters, test examples, and other required reading materials "on reserve", for limited circulation. You may obtain these reserve items at the Circulation Desk. Loan periods are determined by the instructor. The Circulation Desk is also where you may inquire about library fines you may have accrued. The Circulation Desk phone number is (479) 964-0568.
Microcards, Microfiche, and Microfilms
Microcards, Microfiche, and Microfilm on reels are space saving formats that contain many pages of information in a compact design. Back issues of newspapers, periodicals, selected books and a collection of Education Resource Information Center (ERIC) documents are housed in this collection.
New Books Shelf
This section houses any new and notable titles that are added to the Library collection.
Print Station
Once you are logged in (using your OneTech ID and password), you may select print jobs to be printed or deleted. Print jobs will remain in the system for 24 hours before they are automatically deleted. If you use more than your 200 free computer prints in one semester, you must purchase a VendaCard. VendaCard machines are located adjacent to the network printing stations. For hard copy printing, you must purchase a VendaCard.
